Q. What does sealing do for my Pavers or Flagstone?

Sealing is meant to protect pavers/ flagstone from the elements(i.e. rain, sun etc...) and anything foreign that were to fall on them (leaves). It creates an invisible barrier on top of your patio or driveway that repels water, oil, wine, and anything else you might accidentally drop on your driveway or pool deck, so long as you wash it clean as soon as you spot it. Sealing also preserves the surface and it's natural beauty for years to come.

Q. How long does the process take?

1 DAY! ArmorTech is the very first company that can come and clean your pool deck patio or drive way in one day. ALL other sealers take at least a 2-3 day process because they have to wait for the surface to be perfectly dry. Armortech can have you back on your patio or back in your pool the following day! Less interuption than those other guys.

Q. When do my pavers need re-sanding?

Joint sand sand is the finishing touch of any paver job. It gets into the little spaces between the pavers and secures them, preventing them from moving or shifting. After pressure cleaning, sometimes sand is blasted out of place. Re-sanding is recommended where necessary. Most people think that the sand needs to come all the way to the surface. Sand is securing the pavers together and does not need to be seen to do its job. If spaces are unusually large between the pavers, they might be shifting due to damage to your edge restraints and you might be in need of some repairs.

Q. Will sealing my pavers make them shine?

Sealing is made to protect the surface and also to preserve it's beauty and original color. "Natural" has almost zero effect on the color but all of the protective properties. "Super Wet" will enhance the surface color and enrich the look as well as protect. This is why we offer 2 different finishes, natural and wet look. However, neither will make your surface "shiny" or Glossy looking. Some cheaper sealers sold at big box stores will have that undesired and un natural shiny effect.

Q. How can you tell if you need to reseal your pavers?

A simple test can help you tell if you need sealing or not, but it's not the only one. Turn on your water hose and watch water bead up on the surface. If water is not beading, you might need a fresh coat of sealer.

Q. How often do I need to reseal my pavers?

ArmorTech has a 2 year warranty on all sealing jobs that it applies so long as the surface is cleaned (powerwashed) by ArmorTech at least once a year. Just like any other product, your outdoor investment needs to be cleaned and maitained.

Q. What am I to expect when you come and do repairs, pressure cleaning and sealing for me?

The pressure cleaning and sealing process all takes less than one day for most jobs. Repairs under one thousand square feet usually take one day (or less) to finish, unless otherwise noted. All work is done weather permitting. If we are to do work around a pool, great care will be taken in keeping your pool clean, but even though we are careful your pool will be subject to debris(i.e. sand, dirt, etc...)from pressure cleaning, re-sanding and/or repairs. If you have a cover for the pool please have it in place if you wish. We suggest, in case pool gets excessively dirty to schedule your pool company to inspect your filters and clean your pool. We will contact you on date work is to be performed but due to unpredictability of our work, we cannot give you a specific time of start.
